Copyright & DMCA Policy
Effective Date: August 21, 2026 · Version: 2026-08-21
sonicgrid.co · support@sonicgrid.co
Sonic Grid respects copyright and expects everyone here to do the same. This page explains how to tell us about infringing content, what happens next, and what to do if you believe your content was removed in error. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
01. Before You Upload
You are responsible for having the rights to everything you upload. That includes clearing any samples, interpolations, or third-party recordings your track contains, and holding a licence for any cover version of a song you did not write. Sonic Grid does not clear rights on your behalf and does not verify whether your uploads are licensed.
02. Reporting Infringement
If you own the copyright in a work — or are authorised to act for the owner — and you believe content on Sonic Grid infringes it, send a notice to support@sonicgrid.co with the subject line DMCA Takedown Notice.
Your notice must include all of the following:
- 1.Your physical or electronic signature.
- 2.Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- 3.Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — a URL is best.
- 4.Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- 5.A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- 6.A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
An incomplete notice may delay or prevent us from acting on it.
A Word of Caution
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, under Section 512(f) of the DMCA. If you are not sure whether a use is authorised or is fair use, take advice before sending a notice.
03. What We Do When We Receive a Notice
- 1.We review the notice to check it contains what the law requires.
- 2.If it does, we remove or disable access to the material, generally within a few business days.
- 3.We notify the member who posted it, tell them what was removed and why, and send them a copy of the notice.
- 4.We tell them how to file a counter-notice if they believe the removal was a mistake.
- 5.We record the removal against that member's account.
04. Disputing a Takedown — Counter-Notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you had the right to post it, you can send a counter-notice to support@sonicgrid.co with the subject line DMCA Counter-Notice. It must include:
- 1.Your physical or electronic signature.
- 2.Identification of the material that was removed, and where it appeared before removal.
- 3.A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- 4.Your name, address, and telephone number.
- 5.A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live (or, if you are outside the United States, of any district in which Sonic Grid may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the person who filed the original complaint. If they do not tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action to restrain the activity, we may restore the material.
05. Repeat Infringers
We terminate the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyright.
A member receives a strike each time we remove content of theirs in response to a valid takedown notice. A strike is withdrawn if the removal is reversed following a counter-notice, or if we determine the notice was invalid.
- First strike: the content is removed and we notify you.
- Second strike: the content is removed and your account is temporarily restricted from uploading.
- Third strike: your account is terminated.
We may terminate an account sooner where the infringement is severe or clearly deliberate, and we take account of the circumstances rather than applying the count mechanically. Strikes are recorded against the member, not the individual upload, so deleting the content does not remove the strike.
06. Designated Agent
Notices under this policy should be sent to our designated agent:
